Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym Review

Does The Vertical, Multifunctional Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym Live Up To Expectations Of The Brand?

Bowflex Home Gym
From first impressions, there are some clear features that show the Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym to be a different model to other Bowflex products, such as the use of a vertical system rather than horizontal. But there are also plenty of factors that will make fitness fans hopeful for an equally advantageous performance.

This Bowflex PR3000 offers a “total body strength workout” via a diverse range of over 50 strength exercises, a cable pulley system and the use of patented power rods for resistance.

Other features with this product are the 300lb maximum user weight and the inclusion of a vertical bench press and lat pull down, upholstered roller cushions and triple function ankle cuff grips.

Some Noted Features of the Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym

  • Provides resistance between 5 and 210 pounds
  • No cable changes needed between sets
  • Over 50 strength exercises, includes lat pull down and vertical bench press
  • Requires 100 x 78-Inch minimum workout area
  • 300-Pound maximum user weight

Does this Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym offer the full workout that is expected from the brand and what other benefits are on offer?

There is a decent percentage of 5 star reviews for this Bowflex product and even though many aren’t all that helpful, particularly when they simply say how “awesome” it is, there are some interesting, positive points being made.

Talking more generally, the overall opinion seems to be that this is a solid and well built machine, with variable workouts and plenty of options, and that this leads to an easy introduction to resistance work.

Additionally, there are comments on the feel of the curls and pulldowns compared to other machines, the large range of attachments, the smooth operation and the fact that it seems to run pretty quietly with a bit of oiling.

Naturally, there are some areas with this Bowflex home gym machine where opinion is a little more divided – the sense of value and the price tag compared to other Bowflex home gym machines being an obvious one – and some of the more interesting points regard the size and the assembly.

The amount of floor space required is a bit of a contentious issue because of comments regarding the height and the width needed for the arms but others feel that, at 100 x 78 inches, it is compact enough to do the job and better than some alternatives.Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym

As for the assembly, there are many reviews highlighting the simplicity, with many completing it within a couple hours, and the fact that the powder coated steel parts fit together well; however, a similar number of reviewers have noticed the unreliable instructions.

There are clearly some potential flaws with this Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym but does this model have any bigger problems that buyers need to know about?

The biggest disadvantage that buyers need to be aware of is the idea that this machine is not suitable for advanced users. The problem is that while the company are proud that the PR3000 allows for between 5 and 210lbs of resistance, there are suggestions from users that buyers should upgrade to the 310 or 410lb resistance option for a more challenging and rewarding workout.

Some customers question whether the resistance is as advertised because of this ease of use and need for upgrades but others would argue that this is natural when you switch to this style from free weights.

One final criticism of note is that there is a lack of attention to detail on a number of parts, such as the comfort of the hand grips and vinyl seat and the sloppy application of the decals.

Summary: the Bowflex PR3000 seems to have some limitations so it is still a recommendable product?

Another interesting factor with this Bowflex home gym is that there are reports of it being used by seven and seventy-seven year-olds. This fact can be taken in two different ways; it either means that this product is far too easy to use to be demanding enough or it is an accessible product that anyone can try their hand at.

It is undeniable that this is not the most extreme or high-tech of models – despite Bowflex’s claims about their rods – and this could put a few people off. However, if you view the product as an introduction to this kind of resistance based, multifunctional exercise machine then the appeal becomes a lot more apparent.

In short, this Bowflex home fitness equipment is still recommendable because of its ease of use and the way that it can introduce novice users to a range of new exercises via reliable parts and multiple accessories.
